Master Bedroom and Bath Makeover Complete!

Hello!!  Our master bedroom and bath are complete!  We've been hard at work finishing our little charmer- and we are almost there.  Have a look-

Summer bed cover and curtains are "Orkney" by Rough Linen -I am addicted to Tricia's beautiful linens! The pillow shams are vintage european grain sacks-slightly off color but perfectly imperfect.

I bought this little painting in France- it inspired the color scheme for our bedroom and bath.

And ......our new hardwood floor! It is as beautiful as we thought it would be.

Our Master Bathroom :).

My favorite room in the entire house and it was by far the most challenging to pull together. It was an odd shaped space and we went back and forth with ideas before settling on this one.

I bought the mirror from an individual selling a few vintage pieces that belonged to her husbands grandmother. She told me it hung above a buffet. It sat in our storage for 2 years until I found the perfect use for it here over the sink.

I used the same Rough Linen in "Orkney" for the curtain and the cabinet. It's perfect against the marble counter top.

All the steel windows were sanded, stripped, painted and several glass panes replaced. Tom tackled the messy window project while the contractor installed our hardwood floors (a job he was happy to hire out)

The display and storage shelving is above the toilet separated by a wall  next to the tub.

The chandelier was original to the home and used to hang in the master bedroom. I thought it belonged in here:)

I love how it makes the room glow

The interior doors are knotty alder wood. I painted all of them with a combination of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (french linen base coat, with chateau gray over and waxed with clear and dark wax.  It took a few manicures for my hands and nails to recover :)!

We squeezed in a few other project too-

Tom built the closet door in our den out of reclaimed barn wood

and we finished the guest bedroom. This room was the sorry looking storage room for sooo long- It's nice to see it sparkle.

and yes, we are exhausted, but happy our little home is about complete.  We'll be back with more photos of all the finished spaces soon.

PS., we are happy to share products and techniques we have used in this renovation. You are welcome to comment to this post or send us an email with any questions you may have.  Thanks for reading.

Cheers!
